Over recent years there has been a huge increase in the number of
people using fitness facilities at home and at Health & Fitness
Facilities.
Naturally this results in greater stress on the fitness
equipment, and in turn increases the likelihood of breakdown or
failure and the possibility of an accident or injury occurring.
Powerhouse Technical Services Division provides a
dedicated service that keeps your fitness equipment in
first class condition and helps you comply with Health and
Safety regulations and reduce equipment ‘down-time’.
Our technicians are fully trained with £5 million indemnity
cover, let Powerhouse take the risk.
WHO MAINTAINS YOUR FITNESS EQUIPMENT?
ARE THEY INSURED?
Accidents happen in the gym, cables wear, welds weaken, human
error can cause unforeseen problems, people can be injured,
people can raise legal action against operators.
Powerhouse has £5 million indemnity cover,
giving you peace of mind that your maintenance procedures have
proper legal cover.
Powerhouse provide a signed and dated safety schedule
which should be publicly displayed,
informing your clients that you take their safety seriously.
ARE THEIR MAINTENANCE STAFF TRAINED?
Years of experience of the rigours of a gymnasium environment tell
you that effective fault diagnosis is essential for the safety
of fitness equipment.
As fitness machines become increasingly technical with many
treadmills, exercise cycles and climbers now featuring complex
computerised components, the chances of electrical and
mechanical failure become much greater.
Powerhouse staff are factory trained by major
manufacturers such as Johnson, Precor, Paramount, Panatta, and
of course PowerhouseVR, and they continue to receive training
updates throughout the course of each year.
This guarantees extremely effective fault diagnosis and
efficient solution of problems.
DO THEY STOCK SPARE PARTS?
How often have you heard the words “Sorry, we are still waiting
for the parts to arrive”?
Powerhouse stocks over £30,000
of spare parts at the Glasgow workshop.
This dramatically reduces the chance of our technicians
attending jobs without the necessary parts.
WHY ARE THEY SO CHEAP?
Some companies offering maintenance services are known to charge
as little as £20 per hour, begging the question “how do they do
that?”.
The answer must surely be that true quality never comes cheap,
however it can be had at a fair price.
Powerhouse charge £85.00 +VAT callout charge
including the first hours labour, subsequent hours are charged
at £40.00 per half hour.
These charges are on a par with our local plumber and garage
mechanics, and you know that Powerhouse technicians are well
trained, and well equipped to deal with your service needs.
WHAT IS THEIR AVERAGE RESPONSE TIME?
Some operators seem happy to wait a week and longer for even
warranty work to be completed.
Powerhouse says this simply is not good enough.
We always prioritise warranty
work, and proudly boast 85% of warranty calls are resolved
within 24 hours.
Their computerised Service Tracking System enables efficient
co-ordination of resources, and gives immediate access to full
service histories.
DO THEY OFFER WARRANTY EXTENSION OPTIONS?
Powerhouse policy is to offer long term security to customers on
even their older equipment.
Many operators are reluctant to invest in expensive CV equipment
because of the long-term unknown maintenance costs.
Firstly, most treadmills, cycles, climbers etc. sold by
Powerhouse now include 2 year parts warranty as standard.
In addition, beyond the warranty period we offer
comprehensive warranty extension options at very reasonable
rates. e.g. Precor C964 treadmill (1 year extension) £495 - this
covers all parts and labour.
As you are probably aware, many so-called “consumable”
components on treadmills such as tread belts, running decks,
lubricant, even service costs can be well in excess of this
one-off annual fee.
Warranty Extensions are even available on older and 2nd hand equipment,
ask Powerhouse for a full warranty extension price list.
There are many companies offering maintenance services, some are
OK, many are not, and even fewer take their responsibilities as
seriously as they should.
Powerhouse’s commitment to staff training, efficient service,
parts inventory, insurance, and importantly value for money,
offers Fitness Facility Operators value and peace of mind.
The next time you consider your maintenance status,
consider the issues raised.
Or indeed, the next time you purchase equipment, you should
consider a suppliers’ ability and commitment to service the
equipment they sell.
